About this Calculator
Our store locator software requires integration with a third-party mapping service provider to provide the following key features:
- Map Images. Square tiles that fit together to make up the visible map, at a range of zoom levels.
- Place Suggestions. Suggested matches as you type an address into the search field.
- Geocoding. Translates device coordinates into an address for the ‘My Location’ button.
- Directions. Displays routing and text directions from point A to point B on the map.
Cost depends both on how many visitors use your locator and on how they use it — a visitor who only views the map makes far fewer requests than one who searches for an address. Use the toggles above to see the impact on your estimated bill.
How we calculated the numbers
ExpressMaps includes 100,000 page views per month on its free plan, with no extra charge for place suggestions, geocoding, or directions.
Google Maps gives each billed service its own free monthly quota rather than a shared credit: 10,000 free map loads, 10,000 free place-suggestion (Autocomplete) requests, 10,000 free geocoding lookups, and 10,000 free directions requests. Usage above each quota is billed per 1,000 events at rates that step down as volume grows.
Mapbox gives 50,000 web map loads per month free (one load per page visit, however long the visitor interacts with it), billed at $5.00 per 1,000 loads after that and $3.00 per 1,000 above 250,000. Address search draws from a separate free tier of 100,000 geocoding requests per month, billed at $0.75 per 1,000 after that.
