How to switch your locator from Google Maps to Mapbox Maps

Support > Getting Started > How to switch your locator from Google Maps to Mapbox Maps

Due to the recently announced Google Maps Platform price increases and the reduction of the Google Maps free quota, some customers who use their store locator heavily may find it more cost effective to switch to the Mapbox maps platform instead. As a guideline, the threshold for where the free usage of the Google Maps Platform is exceeded is around 600 customers using the store locator each day.

To switch to Mapbox, visit the 'Add to your website' page and click on the 'Switch to Mapbox Maps' button at the top right. This will update the page to show the Mapbox API key entry field and HTML embed code instead.

Once you've done that, you can follow our step by step guide to get a Mapbox API key and update the HTML embed code on your website.

If you already have a store locator running on your website, don't worry, this won't affect it at all, it will continue to use Google maps as before until you update your HTML embed code.
